Arm Lift Blog
As stated in a recent article, many female baby boomers are unhappy with either the size or lack of skin elasticity in their upper arms. Many of these women are not wearing short sleeved or sleeveless tops or dresses because of this. There are a few options for these women.Arm Liposuction, Arm Lift surgery or Brachioplasty are two things that can address these arm issues.
Arm Liposuction is usually done in younger women who want excess fat removed, but have tight skin. . This reason is because younger women’s upper arm skin is not compromised in any way, so when when the fat is removed, the skin looks the same minus the fat!! This surgery takes a few hours, the stitches are removed in a week and you can resume normal physical activity.
Arm Lift or Brachioplasty Surgery, is usually done in women who have lost massive amount of weight, 100# or more, and are left with excess arm skin. It can also be done on the aging woman who has lost skin elasticity for a variety of reasons, and wants to feel better about herself. But remember, this surgery does leave a large scar that is visible. The scar does look better a year or so after surgery, but is still visible. This operation can take 1-3 hours, but you don’t have to spend the night at the hospital. After 4-6 weeks, you will be able to resume normal physical activity with your upper body.
Winter is a good time to have this type of surgery, whether it is just arm liposuction or the traditional arm lift. The arms are mostly covered during the winter months, making recovery easier and less conspicuous.
